to celebrate the arrival of SAI onto my computer and the Valkyria Chronicles Anime, i dedicate this picture to all the Marina lovers in the world. I am certain that a proportion of the fans would appreciate this. enjoy

lineart & colouring of Marina by SAI, background by Photothop7. spent like 15hrs in total while fiddling with SAI, then got bored and tired......:p

Gosh I just love the photoshop effects, extra 30min spent on the addition of the sole of the boots and THAT effect.

Gaaah, you are so much better at proportions than me, even after three semesters of med I still suck at anatomy :XD:

nah, i realised after i'd submitted it that the body is a tad too long. I forgot the 3-d proportion for a bit and now it looked kind of stretched. Should take sketch lessons if I am not doing med.

Sketch lessons sound like a good idea though ^^ I've been toying with the idea of trying to take lessons in something art/design-related myself, but pending mid-semester tests can be pretty uninspiring XD

Very nice work, Jeroz. The diagonal hatching on her outfit replicates the style seen in the game very well.

it's a japanese program specifically for CG drawing. It's excellent for doing linearts. Doesn't have the special effects Photoshop possesses, but the details and the little special touches are quite awesome.
There's also a 30day free trial available, give it a try if you like.
